Background

She obtained her medical degree at the Aristotelion University Thessaloniki, Greece and trained in haematology at the transplant centre of The George Papanikolaou Hospital, gaining the title of Specialist in Haematology in 1996. She moved to London in 1997 with further Haematology specialist training at University College London Hospital. She did a clinical fellowship in haemopoietic stem cell transplant followed by a clinical and research fellowship in multiple myeloma in the department of Haematology of UCLH and at UCL. She obtained her PhD from University College London.

Her main clinical interests are lymphoma, plasma cell dyscrasias, multiple myeloma and transplantation, myeloma spinal and bone disease, myeloproliferative disorders (thrombocythaemia, polycythaemia), leukaemia and anaemias.

She works as Consultant Haematologist and is the lymphoma and multiple myeloma clinical lead.  She attends the Specialised Myeloma Spinal Unit MDT and is actively involved in national and international clinical trials in haematological diseases.

She is fluent in Greek.
