Background
He is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery. He was the President of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and a Trustee and the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Panel of Endometriosis UK. He is a member of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy Executive Committee and the Scientific Chairman of their Annual Congresses and is the current President of International Society of Reproductive Surgery.
Training
He studied medicine at Hacettepe University, Turkey and completed his initial specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at University of Istanbul. He then moved to London and obtained his PhD at University of London before completing the United Kingdom specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the London Deanery. He was appointed as a consultant in 2000.
Clinical interests and areas of expertise
His clinical interests include laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for benign gynaecological conditions, reproductive surgery, endometriosis, fibroids and outpatient hysteroscopy.
Research interests
His research interests include noninvasive diagnosis of endometriosis, clinical outcomes following endometriosis surgery, outpatient hysteroscopy, and the place of screening and risk reducing surgery in women with a history of familial cancer.
